FILM & VIDEO

• I received a 2024 Fellowship from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts for the category of Film in the amount of $16,500. I was among 76 artists selected from 692 eligible applicants in six artistic disciplines to be awarded.

• I singlehandedly created a film that won the 2022 Coney Island Film Festival for Best Comedy Short. My shorts have also screened at the Montclair Film Festival and the Lighthouse International Film Festival.

• One of my many 6-second comedy videos, When she takes forever to get ready, went viral in 2019 with millions of views before TikTok inexplicably deactivated my account. 😬 (I wish you didn’t have to take my word for it.)

• Stretching beyond comedy, I made this heartfelt, sci-fi short after the death of my father.

• As the first American-born family member of Soviet refugees, I’ve drawn inspiration from my background by producing Russian-language content such as this short film and a series on the poetry of Nikolai Shatrov.

• A veteran “burner”, I stitched together footage and photos from my 2022 participation at Burning Man to create a mini-doc of my experience.

COMEDY

• I’ve written and performed on The Howard Stern Show.

• I’ve toured as a standup comedian throughout the US, Canada, and as far away as New Zealand. I perform improv comedy as well.

• Four of my original bits were published in The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Jokes.

CLIENT WORK

Some of my favorite creative client projects include:

• writing, directing, and producing original music for this drone video to promote one of New Jersey’s largest residential historic districts.

• creating this hyperlapse to show visitors how to find the Drum Den in Hoboken, New Jersey’s Historic Neumann Leathers Building.

• In addition to producing music, I enjoy singing and playing classical piano.

• Other hobbies include drawing portraits and renovating my 130-year-old house. Here’s a kitchen cabinet with tile countertop I just completed.

• Beyond my fluency in Russian, I’m also conversant in Spanish and am learning Italian, French, German, and Ukrainian.

• I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Cornell University, where I was also the cartoonist for The Cornell Daily Sun newspaper.
